Rented houseboat is the only way to go and really see and enjoy how vast the Lake actually is the views are spectacular and to get so close is exciting and a houseboat will do that.
Very nice dock. Lots of slips, okay prices on beer and such in the store, nice service at the bar with friendly staff. No complaints.
Writing this review on the state dock grill restaurant. Came two days in a row due to limited options. First day, it took 20 mins for our waitress to greet us. She said she saw some friends she had't seen in awhile and proceeded to talk to them the whole time instead of serving us. Had an overpriced salad that wasn't very good. Our waitress was a mess the whole time. The second day our waitress was super rude, and they were out of 3-4 kinds of meat, so it was limited what we could order. The chicken fingers were good, but at some point a manager took over serving us because our waitress was "having issues." I will never come back due to the horrible service. The also refused to serve my 60 year-old dad alcohol b/c he didn't have his ID. That might be a state restriction, but elsewhere they serve as long as you look over 27. Was kind of a bummer seeing as we stopped to he could grab a drink.
Staff is absolutely wonderful. The house boats are in good shape and are very clean. Rental boats and sea doos are great. Newer boats and watercraft. Very clean lake a lot of fun. The only issue is the restaurant on the dock which is leased by a 3rd party and not ran by State Dock is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. The food is DISTGUSTING beyond words. FYI, buy groceries at the store there, save your time, money and frustration for bigger battles in life.
Nice clean state park with a great view of the lake a 100 feet below.
